The search for great investment opportunities
It doesn’t matter how old you are or how much money you have, one thing that we all have in common is a desire to find great investment opportunities. The problem is that they aren’t so easy to come by, especially in today’s uncertain economic world. Some of us are prepared to take risks to potentially earn higher returns whilst others are risk adverse and the idea of losing any capital sends shivers down their spine.
As you can see, the definition of a “great investment” varies from person to person but if we were to look at it in its broadest sense, you would be looking for an investment that was secure – therefore offering certain guarantees as well as a return comfortably beating inflation. Finding an investment that is 100% secure these days is almost impossible, even the banks can’t guarantee this beyond a certain amount so you have to be realistic. Returns of 5% or over are not easy to achieve without an element of risk so you need to balance your expectations with risk tolerance.
So, what are your options? The stock markets are performing admirably at the present time but there is still a great deal of uncertainty and a feeling that you could be ‘buying high’ with crash, some commentators suggest, being imminent. Bitcoin is popular but has a lot to prove and has no long-term track record. The real aim to look for something tangible, something that you can see and touch that will always have a value. This leaves gold and property, traditional investments that stand the test of time.
Property has a long history of appreciating in value over the long-term. Sure, it suffers peaks and troughs but there will always be the opportunity for capital growth as well as the potential to earn an income. It is rare to find guarantees when it comes to income as after all this is dependent on the tenants as much as it is market conditions. Demand may be high but so is demand for quality tenants and the risks can prove too high, not to mention the stress and headaches for many investors. What would be ideal is if you could have some guarantees and an accurate and fair guide to future expectations.
It seems that some of the major hotel brands have also seen that investors crave these guarantees and whilst their client base may have changed slightly they still need guests in their accommodation. The Best Western, Amari and Ramada hotel chains have deals from developers offering rental guarantee concepts to investors in Thailand. The projects concerned are in the tourist hotspots of Pattaya and Phuket and offer guaranteed returns for five years with projected returns for subsequent years.
The Amari in Pattaya is a completed project and offers a 5% p.a. rental guarantee for five years with very prudent projected returns of in excess of 8% p.a. in subsequent years. The Best Western and Ramada projects, both under construction in Phuket, guarantee returns of 7% for five years with impressive projections of 10% p.a. in the years thereafter. All offers are extremely attractive and are sure to make investors sit up and take note.
These are all 5-star hotels backed by their experience and management expertise not to mention the fact that, needless to say, are all in prime locations that will prove popular now and long into the future. As safe investments go, these are an excellent option and well worth adding to your investment portfolio.
